Growth story
Resort Brokers Australia was established by Managing Director, Ian Crooks, in 1985. Ian already had more than a decade of experience in real estate, operating a successful motel brokerage firm in New Zealand. During that time he also successfully owned and operated a number of motels.
Ian has steered Resort Brokers Australias growth to become Australasias most prominent and largest tourism brokerage organisation. We specialise in the marketing and sale of leasehold and freehold motels, resorts, hotels, caravan/tourist parks, management rights, hospitality venues and all manner of niche market properties such as backpacker hostels, lodges and B&Bs.
Headquartered in Brisbane, the network includes offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast, along with having a strong presence in Launceston, Darwin, Sunshine Coast, Queenslands Whitsundays and Coral Coasts, and North Queensland, servicing vast urban, coastal and regional areas. Resort Brokers is also very active throughout New Zealand, based in Auckland, and services major Asia-Pacific tourism centres including Bali, Vanuatu, Malaysia and Fiji.

We pioneered the practice of splitting motel properties into separate leasehold and freehold components, creating active and passive investment opportunities to suit different investor profiles. Now the model for most motels, this innovation expanded the market, making it more accessible to good operators.
In the mid-1990s, Resort Brokers established a dedicated Management Rights Division in response to growing market demand for specialist expertise. We consult extensively with industry leaders and authorities on issues affecting management rights, and are actively working to promote the successful implementation and growth of the sector throughout Australia. Resort Brokers has also been instrumental in introducing management rights structures to new offshore accommodation developments, creating operational improvements and investment appeal.

We maintain extensive professional memberships and affiliations with peak real estate, property management and tourism bodies nationwide.
