Cairns local Shane Croghan joined ResortBrokers in 2019 and has since settled the sale of properties with a combined worth of over $34 million.
His notable sales include the management rights to Drift at Palm Cove, one of Far North Queensland’s largest and most sought-after luxury beachfront residences. The business was bought in December 2022 by Dreamtime, one of Australia’s foremost resort management groups. Shane’s other notable sales include Meridian Port Douglas and Verandahs Apartments, also in Port Douglas.
Before joining ResortBrokers, Shane spent a decade operating three of his own management rights businesses: the 80-unit Whitfield Waters from 2010 to 2013, the 54-unit City Park Gardens Apartments from 2010 to 2015, and Mid City Luxury Suites from 2015 to 2019.
“Having been in management rights myself, I’m in the perfect position to provide advice to anyone wanting to get into an accommodation business,” says Shane. “I’m well equipped with first-hand knowledge and experience to guide sellers and buyers through the whole process to get them started in their new business venture.”
Shane’s Far North Queensland patch covers a vast geographical area from Mission Beach to the Torres Strait and out west to Karumba in the Gulf of Carpentaria through to Mt Isa. While Cairns and Port Douglas get all the attention, Shane is also busy in places like Mission Beach, Innisfail, the Atherton Tableland, Mossman and Cape Tribulation.
“I’m passionate about the accommodation sector, particularly in Far North Queensland, which I get to see far and wide,” says Shane.
Before entering the accommodation industry, Shane forged a successful career in residential real estate in Cairns from 2004 to 2010 as a sales representative and branch manager. Prior to that he built an impressive sales record in the liquor industry, holding senior sales and branch manager positions with beverage giants Carlton & United Breweries and Coca Cola Amatil.
