Josh Mangleson

Property Economist

Since joining ResortBrokers, Josh has continued to break new ground in accommodation property research and established himself as an industry recognised speaker.

As ResortBrokers’ first Property Economist, Josh provides in-house business intelligence services, implements technological advancements for the company, and produces data and economic commentary for various reports across the industry’s various asset classes.

Josh also supports ResortBrokers’ nationwide network of more than 30 brokers by helping connect them with clients and monitor market activity and trends.

As the management rights sector’s first ever industry analyst, Josh was the principal researcher and co-author of ResortBrokers’ ground-breaking Management Rights’ Report 2022, the first study of its kind to examine the vast impact of the management rights industry across Australia.

Josh collected, collated and analysed data from thousands of management rights operators in every state across Australia to produce the report, which he helped launch via a roadshow of presentations to industry leaders around the country attracting national press along the way.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Property Economics from the Queensland University of Technology, which he completed in 2018. A class-topping grade point average and several awards throughout his degree saw Josh invited to join the university’s sessional academic staff while still undertaking his studies.

However, a career within industry beckoned that initially saw Josh work as an assistant project manager for a luxury residential and boutique commercial builder in Brisbane before taking up his first analyst role with the renowned PRD Real Estate’s research team.

During his time with PRD, Josh made radical changes to the company’s data systems that significantly enhanced and deepened research reports, while also producing ground-breaking reports that led to unprecedented media coverage for PRD. His deep insights into residential markets quickly led to his promotion within PRD and opened the door to him working with parent company Colliers International on a range of projects, including Colliers’ inaugural Build-to-Rent report in 2021.

While working at PRD, Josh returned to university part-time to undertake a post-graduate qualification in data science at the University at Southern Queensland, which he completed in 2021.

With ResortBrokers since 2021, Josh has continued to pioneer research development, as well as introducing the company’s pilot internship program to help train the next generation of accommodation property professionals.
