Great turnout for Sunshine Coast Movers and Shakers event

More than 30 of the top management rights operators from across the Sunshine Coast turned out for our latest ‘Movers and Shakers’ event which was held for the first time in almost a year.

The event was held at the always popular Alexandra Headland Surf Club and was held in partnership with the crew from Mike Phipps Finance, Tony Rossiter and Lel Parnis from Holman’s Accountants, Trent Pevy from Pevy Lawyers and Gemma McCourt from Nuvho Hotels.

ResortBrokers’ Sunshine Coast Specialists Glenn Millar and Chenoa Daniel organised the Movers and Shakers event and they said it was well received after undergoing a hiatus due to COVID-19.

“It was the first real time we could have this get together with restrictions in almost a year and the feedback was outstanding from everyone who turned up. We were expecting a good turn out, but this was even better than we thought,” Glenn Millar said.

Much of the discussion centred on what’s happening in the industry across the finance, accounting, legal and sales fields, although the key part of the day was to catch up and socialise in an informal environment after a challenging 2020.

“The key point of holding these events is to get up to speed on the rapid changes going on in the industry, but just as important is the social element. It was really great to see all the operators in our network simply catching up and swapping stories about what they’ve been up to,” Chenoa Daniel said.

ResortBrokers Managing Director Trudy Crooks and Chairman Ian Crooks also made it up from Brisbane to attend and they were able to provide an overview of the accommodation sales environment across the whole country.

Trevor Rawnsley, CEO of the Australian Resident Managers Accommodation Association, also made the trip up from the Gold Coast to join the event.

Some feedback from the Movers and Shakers event:

Hi Glenn, thank you so much for inviting me. It was an awesome event. I still can't believe how nice the lunch was. It was great to catch up with so many clever people. Chenoa really lightened the room with her intros! Thanks again.

Thanks for the invite mate! Really enjoyed it.  It’s not something I do a lot. Need to do it more. Some good and clever people there. Nothing to sell today, but you’ll be my first call as always.

Pleasure to be involved Glenn and thank you to you and Chenoa for putting it all together (including the rabbit food). The feedback from everybody I spoke to was positive.

Gemma McCourt - Nuvho Hotels

Hi Glenn and Chenoa … just a quick thank you for including us in today’s event. Great format with lots of positive comments. Reckon we had most of the room as clients and the ones who aren’t are in the cross hairs! Reckon you’ll be thinking the same. Best wishes and count us in for any future Resort Brokers activities.
