Cityville Apartments & Motel sold to Travellers Group — ResortBrokers
Regional Australian hospitality group Travellers has added Cityville Apartments & Motel in Rockhampton to its rapidly growing regional accommodation portfolio.
Travellers acquired the leasehold of the 24-key property, consisting of modern apartments and motel rooms, in an off-market deal through ResortBrokers’ agent Nathan Benjamin.
Cityville is Travellers’ fourth leasehold acquisition through ResortBrokers in 20 months, following the group’s 2024 purchases of the 44-key Burnett Riverside Hotel in Bundaberg and 24-key Bluegum Dubbo. In December 2023, Travellers acquired the 31-key Emerald Inn through ResortBrokers.
Travellers regional portfolio now numbers five properties, including Yallungah Boutique Hotel in Orange, New South Wales.
“We’re delighted for our client to have found a high-quality operator in the form of Travellers to take over this great regional asset,” says Nathan Benjamin.
“ResortBrokers is receiving overwhelming interest in regional motels from investors like Travellers who have rightly identified that the regions hold greater opportunities than capital cities.
“Queensland is at the forefront of this new demand. While New South Wales has traditionally been the most sought-after state for motel investment, a noticeable shift is emerging with buyers increasingly targeting Queensland in pursuit of stronger returns. The Sunshine State is now poised to receive the largest influx of new motel capital investment.”
“This acquisition reaffirms Travellers’ commitment to investing in best-in-class regional Australian accommodation and supporting the communities in which we operate,” says Craig Smith, Travellers’ Managing Director.
“Cityville is a high-quality asset in Rockhampton, a thriving regional hub with a robust and growing accommodation market, and we’re thrilled to welcome it into Travellers’ portfolio.
“Our goal is to enhance the already strong foundations in place at Cityville, leveraging Travellers’ systems and service to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences while contributing to the local economy.” END
