Southport Motel & Apartments for sale by ResortBrokers

ResortBrokers has listed the freehold going concern of Southport Motel & Apartments for sale.

The 38-unit midscale motel is located on Nerang Street, the main road of the Gold Coast’s central business district in Southport.

ResortBrokers is marketing Southport Motel & Apartments by way of an expressions of interest campaign that closes Friday, 19 September at 5pm AEST.

“With a shortage of new stock in the foreseeable future amid the current building crisis, freehold accommodation properties in burgeoning CBD locations such as Southport, have cemented their appeal as prime assets,” says ResortBrokers’ Director Alex Cook, who is selling the asset with brokers Miguel Bozina and Nathan Benjamin.

“The supply of freehold going concern motels on the Gold Coast is shrinking because several have been acquired in recent years for redevelopment. The reduced number of freehold going concern motels, in a market dominated by strata complexes with fluctuating letting pools, makes Southport Motel & Apartments a rare offering.”

Southport Motel & Apartments is surrounded by commercial development, predominantly in the medical sector. The 23-room, 15-apartment motel attracts predominately corporate guests during the week (especially health), with tourist trade filling rooms on the weekends and school holidays.

Says Mr Cook, “Southport Motel & Apartments would suit either an operator or a developer. For operators, this is an already high-performing business with significant scope to grow ADR, occupancy and operational efficiency. For developers, the motel’s favourable Special Purpose zoning allows flexible future development opportunities, while the holding income provides a stable return until future redevelopment occurs.” END
