US timeshare giant buys Hepburn Springs resort

Florida based hospitality giant Travel & Leisure Co has bought Hepburn Springs’ recently renovated Hotel Bellinzona, now set to be renamed.

The 63 room guesthouse with a 160-seat restaurant and conference facilities hit the market April with c$16 million price hopes.

A multi-million dollar refurbishment of the c1903 building was completed four years ago.

ResortBrokers’ Hugh Thomas acted for the vendor, Houses Hotel Group, which bought the freehold going concern in 2019.

Timeshare deal

Mr Thomas said the hotel at 77 Main Road is the Daylesford region’ largest, attracting corporate clients, weekenders and wedding groups.

The conference and event space can accommodate c650, he added.

The asset also has an indoor pool, spa and sauna.

Last financial year, it earned $1.81m, according to the executive.

On 1.2 hectares, the property also has development upside.

Travel & Leisure Co will rebrand it Club Wyndham Bellinzona Hepburn Springs, Daylesford.

It will be the operator’s 68th resort for Club Wyndham South Pacific vacation owners.

In July we reported the timeshare group snapped up another Australian asset for this brand – at Mission Beach. END
