Steven Styles

Specialist Accommodation Broker
Townsville and Surrounds

Steven made an immediate impact after joining ResortBrokers in 2025, bringing several multi-million-dollar listings to market, including the record sale of Aquarius on the Beach.

Sold to Belmo Group for $7 million in July 2026, the management rights sale of the iconic Townsville property — the Strand’s only high-rise accommodation — established a new benchmark for a single management rights asset in the city.

Born in Ingham, Steven has called Townsville home for more than 25 years. He moved to the region to complete a Bachelor of Commerce at James Cook University and, despite opportunities to relocate throughout his career, chose to build his future in North Queensland.

His connection to the region runs deep. His parents, now retired in Burrum Heads, previously owned a business in Ingham, while his wife Jordana is Townsville born and raised.

“I really love North Queensland,” says Steven. “There’s the family connection, of course but also the lifestyle. I love the outdoors and North Queensland has everything I need. It’s home.”

Based in Townsville’s North Shore, Steven works across a broad region spanning south to Mackay, north to Tully and west to Hughenden.

“I really enjoy travel,” he says. “Meeting clients face-to-face makes a huge difference. They appreciate that you’re local and are genuinely invested in their business and the community. This often sets you apart from competitors that just blow in to town for a day or two.”

Steven’s career began with plans to become an accountant, before shifting his focus to business management during university. He started his professional career with Toyota Finance from 2003 to 2004, before moving into a business manager role with Westpac’s Country Business Direct division, supporting relationship-managed clients across regional Queensland and the Northern Territory.

While he liked the work, Steven knew he wanted a career with greater personal interaction.

“I enjoyed the role but realised I wasn’t suited to a regular office job,” he says. “I needed a role where I could connect with people. I enjoy the personal interaction.”

That led him to Coca-Cola in 2007. He spent 18 successful years at the beverage giant, rising through the ranks to become district sales manager, leading high-performing teams across Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Rockhampton.

Steven credits his success to clear communication, reliability and a straightforward approach.

“It’s pretty simple,” he says. “Be authentic and follow through on your word. Deliver on what you’ve committed to and within the desired timeframe. If something can’t be done, be upfront about it. No excuses, no fluff. That kind of honesty builds trust, and trust is the foundation of success.”
