"As a former accommodation industry owner-operator in Tasmania, I now thoroughly enjoy using my knowledge and experience to help buyers enter the industry and allow sellers to realise their rewards from the hard work they’ve put into their businesses."

If Mike suggests discussing your deal over a game of golf, be warned! This man knows his way around a golf course. Fortunately for sellers and buyers across Tasmania, he also knows more than a thing or two about accommodation and hospitality businesses.

Originally from NZ, Mike’s career began as a PGA Golf Professional, which naturally saw him take on course management roles. A PGA member for 30 years, these included Golf Course Manager at Queenstown Golf Club, regarded as one of the most picturesque courses in the world.

With an eye for the business opportunity though, Mike soon leveraged his golfing expertise to become owner and CEO of a national distribution company for USA performance golf equipment brand, Powerbilt.

He then launched an international golf start-up, patenting, manufacturing and selling his own invention – an ingenious glove and grip combination, the first of its type approved for competition use. It was distributed across 15 countries, with Tiger Woods’ Kiwi caddy Steve Williams as its ambassador.

Next move was to Australia where Mike bought the 30-room Beachway Motel, Restaurant and Function centre at Ulverstone on Tasmania’s north coast. Five years on, he sold the quality freehold business through ResortBrokers, effectively opening the door to another opportunity.

For a while, Mike managed a Ramada hotel and golf resort in Queensland. But ResortBrokers knew a smart operator when they found one and lured him back to Tassie.

Armed with exceptional business skills, plus broad hands-on experience in leisure, accommodation and hospitality, he joined our team to help others enjoy the financial rewards and lifestyle benefits offered in the sector.

Never far from a golf course, Mike is based at Greens Beach, at the mouth of the Tamar beside a delightful 9-hole course. His competitive spirit also sees him playing lawn bowls at a high level. So, dare we say it if you want a broker with know-how and real ‘drive’, Mike’s your man.
