Born and raised in Sydney, Tim Mayoh joined ResortBrokers in 2022 off the back of a high flying 25-year career that saw him work and consult for many of the world’s leading hotel brands.

As broker, Tim is utilising his expert knowledge of hotel operations as well as his industry contacts to connect buyers and sellers in Greater Sydney’s booming hotel market.

In his first two years with ResortBrokers, Tim hit the ground running with a string of notable deals.

  • In March 2024, Tim transacted the largest ever sale of a Quest Apartment Hotel franchise with the 88-apartment Quest Liverpool. 
  • In November 2023, Tim transacted the sale of the franchise to the 59-apartment Quest Cronulla Beach, a then record before it was overtaken by the Quest Liverpool sale.
  • In November 2023, Tim sold the management and letting rights of the short-stay, 100-apartment Park Regis Concierge Apartments in Cremorne, a noteworthy transaction on account of the rarity of management rights deals in Sydney.
  • In August 2023, Tim facilitated the operator selection process on behalf of cluBarham for its accommodation properties in the Riverina district. Under the arrangement, Gatehouse Hospitality will manage cluBarham’s accommodation properties under a hotel management agreement in conjunction with a franchise agreement with Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, the regional arm of one of the world’s largest accommodation franchisors, that will see the properties operate under its popular Comfort brand.

A versatile hotel specialist, Tim has in-depth experience and knowledge across all hotel operating models, whether freehold going concerns, leaseholds, hotel management agreements or management rights.

Immediately prior to joining ResortBrokers, Tim served four years as Development Director for Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, driving the growth and expansion of the hotel group’s five brands: Econo Lodge, Comfort, Quality, Clarion and Ascend Hotel Collection.

Earlier, he was a Senior Consultant for Leading Quality Assurance (LQA), first in Vancouver for three years from 2012 to 2015, then in Sydney for almost two years from 2016 to 2018. LQA provides independent assessments that highlight room for improvement of the world’s leading hotels and resorts.

Travelling the world, Tim evaluated hundreds of marquee brands such as Four Seasons, Marriot, IHG, Mandarin Oriental, Jumeirah, Dorchester, Langham, Kempinski, One & Only, Six Senses, Banyan Tree, Taj, Oberoi, Trident, Anantara, Rosewood, St. Regis, Bulgari, Belmond, Peninsula, Fairmont, Raffles, Swissotel, Rocco Forte, Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery.

Consulting with senior executive teams on operational best practice enhanced Tim’s expertise and gave him invaluable insight into the hotel trade.

“These experiences allowed me to network with an amazing array of hoteliers, both management and owners, from all over the world,” says Tim. “It gave me a keen appreciation of the demands and requirements of hotel owners, particularly at the high end of the market.”

“Now as broker, my goal is always to ensure owners’ expectations are exceeded, whether it’s a large CBD hotel or a small motel,” he says.

Giving him the edge as a broker is Tim’s knowledge of the hotel industry from the inside out. After completing a Bachelor of Business degree from Swinburne University, Tim pursued management roles in luxury hotels, including a boutique hotel in central Vancouver before taking up his role at LQA.
